Air Peace operated its inaugural direct commercial service from Lagos to Barbados on May 24, 2026, via Antigua; becoming the first airline from West and Central Africa to offer nonstop Caribbean flights from the continent. For decades, businesses and travellers across both regions faced transit times of 21 hours or more through European or North American hubs, burdened by restrictive visa requirements and high logistical overheads. The new service, operated by Boeing 777 with over 284 passengers on the inaugural flight, cuts that journey to approximately nine hours of flying time.

The route operates twice monthly, connecting Lagos to Antigua and onward to Bridgetown, Barbados. For stakeholders in agriculture, manufacturing, and consumer goods, this air link transforms time-sensitive supply chains, enabling direct export opportunities into the Caribbean's hospitality and retail markets. The service simplifies bilateral corporate travel, supporting collaborative ventures in banking, technology, and real estate. By reducing the geographical friction between West Africa and the CARICOM bloc, the route gives businesses a direct framework for scaling operations, reaching new consumers, and building transatlantic partnerships without the cost and delay of indirect routing.
